Wooden Dog Houses
The Wooden Dog Houses Blues.
"I've got a house but it's not a home/ Yeah, mama, I've got a
house but it's not a home/ I would rather wander the streets than
sleep inside there with a dirty bone/ Wooooo..." No, this is not a
blues song by T-Bone Walker or Hound Dog Taylor or Muddy Waters or
Blind Dog chitlin' but it's a blues song that was written and
composed by none other than your depressed, frustrated and unhappy
dog and it's all because of a dilapidated and haphazard dog house
that you made for him and this is what he calls "The Wooden Dog
Houses Blues".
So, you think that your dog is satisfied with his little cramped
cabin situated on one side of your yard, right? Wrong. Dogs
do have feelings, too, when it comes to healthy living and healthy
living is not only good food but also a good home. How could
you even have the nerve to not to let him stay inside your nice
warm house when all you have for him is a dog house that looks like
a mini-junkyard or boiler room? Pet dogs deserve a nice home, you
know and if you come to think about it, what do you think is the
reason why he always stays out late at night, huh? It's because
he's got no good house to come home to. If you were in his
claws, what will you expect when you come home in a trench hole and
you ain't go no one to greet you with open arms, only some dirty
and cramply little spaces where it's only big enough for your to
lie down?
Many dog owners make the same mistakes of making a dog house
just big enough for the beagle to lie around. Why, he can't even
flip to one side and that is very frustrating. And to make matters
worse, they build dog houses that are humid and can be very
uncomfortable for a dog.
You have to measure first your dog's length and height so the
doghouse will be just the right size and right size means that he
can have enough space to move around freely. If your dog is still a
puppy, make size adjustments in the plan so that your dog will
still fit inside when he's fully grown.
Probably, the first best way to make your dog's life easier and
more comfortable is to choose the right kind of material, say, the
wood panels. For many a-dog owners, they prefer to use cedar
wood instead. You see, this type of conifer tree is very
sturdy and would not rot for all eternity. Have you seen
totem poles made by Indians? They have withstood the toughest of
all extreme weather and time elements because they're made of
cedar. Cedar woods are also free of insects and other
parasites.
What's more, with regards to cleaning, cedar dog houses are
easier to clean and the best way to make it even more convenient
cleaning a dog house is to make the roof detachable.
A clean dog house means a clean dog and clean dog is a healthy
dog. But clean is not necessarily the only thing you have to
consider. You should also consider how the dog house is built to
make him healthier. For instance, you need to find a dog house or
build one that has raised flooring, contrary to the conventional
dog houses that to build on the ground. This will help the air to
circulate more freely and of course, it can prevent the water
coming especially during rainy days and nights.
In conclusion, if you want to avoid your dog singing "The Wooden
Dog Houses Blues", learn how to make a dog house that is totally
comfortable, safe and sturdy for your dog and maybe someday, he
will sing you a happy tune like "I've Got A Master & He Loves
Me".
