Tips for having a Golden Retriever

If you are someone that has a golden retriever, you know that there is a lot to do when you have one of these dogs.

If you have or are thing about getting a golden retriever, you should be prepared to spend a long time with it.  There usually life span is around ten to fifteen years.  This is a lot of time to spend with a dog.  You will have many years to get to know each other and eventually become friends.

You want to make sure that a golden retriever has a good exercise schedule too. You will want to have a good vacuum at home because golden retrievers are know for their shedding.  They will usually shed all year long so you need to be prepared to vacuum up the hair at least once a day. This will help to eliminate allergies to the hair and dander that is left behind for you and anyone who enters your home.  You will want to vacuum up the upholstery once a week or so as well.  This will help to eliminate too much hair gathering on your furniture.  Even if the dog is not allowed on the upholstery, the hair will find its way there somehow.
