How to teach your Golden Retriever not to
bark
Dogs are great animals. They make great pets for just
about anyone especially a golden retriever.
These dogs are so enjoyable for just about any
environment. As with any dog however, your golden retriever
may like to bark. This is possible for just about any breed
of dog. There are things that you can do in order to help
them not bark at times when they should not be. You can help
prevent them from driving you crazy and keeping them muted in
certain circumstances.
You should think about what is making your dog bark. There
may be a very good reason as to why the dark is making him
heard. After all, dogs cannot speak to humans so they show
their expression through their barking. When a golden
retriever is barking, he may need help. Maybe there is a
stranger in the yard or there is another animals outside teasing
him.
You need to check on the basis needs of your dog to make sure
that he is not in need of anything. Make sure that the animal
has food, water, and enough attention of course. Sometimes a
golden retriever will bark because they are lacking the attention
that they so much thrive on.
Once you find the reason the golden retriever is barking, you
should do something about it. If they are hungry, feed them
and if someone or something is bothering them, you need to remove
it or them or hide them from the dog. When it is out of the
sight it is also out of mind. This will help you cut back on
the barking from time to time.
You should use good reinforcements to help your dog be trained
in not barking all the time. You should never be cruel or
abusive to your dog or any other animal for that matter. Be
patient and take care of the source before you loose your
cool. Give your dog treats when they are expressing good
behavior make sure that you are telling them when they should be
quiet and if they listen, give them a doggy treat. This will
help to keep them calm and get to stop barking.
If your golden retriever is kept indoors during the time when
you are not home, you may want to leave a radio or TV on while you
are out. This will help the dog deal with being home alone
because of the background noise that is keeping them company.
You should also close all of the curtains so that they cannot see
out and nothing can see it. This will limit the number of
distractions while you are not home and this will keep the barking
down to a minimum.
